Did You Know?

The US is one of two countries in the world who pledge allegiance to their flag. The other? North Korea.

There is no salmonella in Norway. They enjoy eating quite undercooked eggs without fear for this reason.

In the 1920's the "underdeveloped country" of Norway received monetary aid from Argentina?
(100 years ago Norway was the poorest country in Europe. Now, it is one of the richest in the entire world).

The coinage of the Norwegian Kroner completely changes when the royalty changes. It does not all bear the image of the new king...but I think they must get to decide what goes on each coin.

Every 18 year old Norwegian man is obligated to spend one year in the armed forces. (Approximately half are deemed fit for service after a wide battery of tests).

My grandmother's second cousin (Haakon) with whom we are staying was a member of Parliament from 1993-1997.

Now you know.
